The Honeymoon Details
Day 1 to 3
On arrival in Dar es Salaam you will be met by a representative of Coastal Aviation for a short transfer to the domestic terminal and your 08:30 flight to the Selous Game Reserve (45 minutes).You will be welcomed on your arrival at the airstrip by a representative of Sand Rivers and transferred a just short distance to your room...
You have the mighty Selous Game Reserve at your leisure. You can choose to be as active as you feel. Activities include traditional 4x4 game drives to explore the area, birding, fishing, boating (on the Rufiji River), picnics and bush lunches, private game viewing platforms.
All in all, days at Sand Rivers aren’t about box ticking, or endless driving in search of the next animal. It’s a sense of gradual absorption in this corner of the natural world that we’d love you to feel.
Sand Rivers:
There are three Suites at Sand Rivers, these are separate from the standard rooms and within walking distance of the main mess/dining area and large swimming pool.
The suites have their own private lounge area, and plunge pools set into the main deck. The bedrooms, with large comfortable beds, are open fronted and the en-suite bathrooms are bush-deluxe. Throughout, the cooling sounds of the river run. The three Hillside Suites expand the space and luxury for the happy hippo in all of us, with big sofas and plunge pools for constant wallowing!
Day 4 to 10
Sadly your time in Selous has come to an end. Onto your next adventure... Zanzibar! Your flight departs at 09:15 and arrives on Zanzibar Island at 10:50.On arrival you will be greeted by our team on the ground, who will welcome you with a refreshing bottle of ice cold water and transfer you via a comfortable air conditioned vehicle to Kilindi Resort in the North of the Island (around an hour’s drive away).
For the next few days you can enjoy Zanzibar Island at your leisure. The island is very small and really easy to get around. There’s so much to do you’ll be spoilt for choice; diving, snorkelling, bird watching, sailing, deep-sea fishing, visiting historical ruins, touring spice plantations. And if all this sounds too exhausting you can just sit back and relax on the gorgeous beach soaking up the sun! On an evening of your choosing, we have an unforgetable, romantic Dhow Sunset cruise arranged for you.. please enjoy this on us.
Kilindi: Kilindi lies on the northwest coast of the island and is embraced by 50 acres of the most luscious and tropical gardens imaginable.
