The Safari Details
Day 1Arrive into Jomo Kenyatta Airport where you will be met by a our local representative and transferred to PALACINA SUITES for overnight (dinner not included).
Palacina Suites: As a family owned and run hotel the core emphasis is on making guests feel at home during their stay in Nairobi in an atmosphere of understated elegance and warm hospitality. With 14 suites including 2 penthouses, the facilities include a swimming fitness room, a spa and a small business center.
Day 2Enjoy an early breakfast before heading out into “the bush”. Our representative will give you an in-depth safari briefing before you depart and start your African Adventure. You will depart the hotel at around 09.00 hrs and drive for around 4 hours to reach Nakuru Town. The drive will take you through landscapes that change dramatically from the Mount Kenya Region alternating with rocky cliffs, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with Euphorbia forests. On arrival at FLAMINGO HILL CAMP you will be checked in. After a leisurely lunch, you will depart for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The game drive will take you through the different ecosystems the park has. After the game drive, dinner and overnight at FLAMINGO HILL CAMP.
Flamingo Hill Tented Camp (Lake Nakuru): Flamingo Hill Camp is located on the outskirts of Lake Nakuru National Park. Small and exclusive, it comprises of 25 tents which all have en suite bathrooms and a private verandah overlooking the Nakuru plains.
Day 3After an early breakfast, you will drive towards the Maasai Mara. The journey will take you through agricultural lands of the Rift Valley and the landscape will then change when you reach the Maasai Mara eco-system. You will view giraffes and zebras long before reaching the reserve and, after a picnic lunch en route, you will arrive in the afternoon at KILIMA CAMP where you will have dinner and overnight.
Kilima Camp (Maasai Mara): Situated on top of the Oloololo-Siria escarpment, overlooking the Mara River, with a phenomenal view, Kilima Camp is a luxurious private tented camp bordering the Maasai Mara Conservation Area (15 min from the Oloololo Gate). Surrounded by an abundance of wildlife all year round, Kilima Camp offers the true African adventure in style and comfort with an eco-friendly touch and maximum care for the environment and its people, the Maasai.
Day 4Enjoy a full day in the Maasai Mara and choose to do a full day or half day game drive or early morning and afternoon game drives to capture the best light for your photographs. Optional activities are balloon flight with champagne breakfast, visit of a traditional Maasai village and bush sundowner. Full board accommodation at KILIMA CAMP.
Day 5After an early breakfast, you will drive to Isebania, the boarder with Tanzania and after completing all your immigration and customs formalities you will be met by your Tanzanian driver guide while your Kenyan driver guide will bid you ‘kwaheri’. You will then proceed to Lake Victoria for a night at SPEKE BAY LODGE. Here you will have the afternoon at leisure to do optional activities such as visit a fishing village or do a boat trip on Lake Victoria.
Speke Bay Lodge (Lake Victoria): Located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Speke Bay Lodge looks like a small village, stretched out along the shores of the lake. The main building and luxury accommodation are round in form, built to perfection, painted white and thatched with a grass roof in the traditional style of the local tribe, the Sukuma. Since the Lodge is outside but close to the Serengeti National Park, it is the ideal place to start or end your safari, or relax during your travels.
Day 6After breakfast at the lodge you will depart for Serengeti National Park. Guests will have a picnic lunch en route so that they can enjoy a long game drive in the seemingly endless plains. Arrive at your SERENGETI MEDIUM CAMP early in the evening where dinner will be waiting for you at your overnight stay.
Serengeti Medium Camp: The original safari style accommodation in the heart of Serengeti National Park. Serengeti Medium Camp gives people an authentic, ultimate safari experience providing spacious tents, all with en suite bathrooms as well as very personalised services. This accommodation provides luxury facilities with a bush feel allowing people to be at one with nature in one of Africa’s most famous parks.
Day 7The Serengeti will always have an unsuspected surprise in stall for you….be it when you are out to check on the migration of the wildebeest or zebra, or in search of the big cats, or even the unnoticed dung beetles whose contribution to this sensitive ecosystem goes unnoticed but is vital. All meals and overnight at your SERENGETI MEDIUM CAMP
Day 8Before breakfast you will have a final game drive in the Serengeti and after checking out of your hotel you will sadly leave this wonderful area. You will have Picnic lunches en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon you descend into the caldera where you will spend half of the day viewing game on the crater floor. Besides the huge black-maned lions, keep your eyes peeled for Rhino and after a final crater tour you will ascend the crater for dinner and overnight at PLANTATION LODGE.
Plantation Lodge (Karatu): Like a green oasis, Plantation Lodge rests on the soft, red-brown hills amidst the vastness of East Africa’s coffee plantations. The individually furnished rooms and suites melting harmoniously into the flowering garden offer comfort and relaxation. The lodge’s location promises maximum safari enjoyment: a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 9After an early breakfast, you will depart from your lodge and drive down the escarpment, enjoying the magnificent scenery along the way. You will pass various villages en route to Tarangire National Park. You will have a game drive en route to your lodge for lunch enjoying the sights of the magnificent baobab tress. On arriving at KIKOTI CAMP you will be checked in. At round 15.00 hrs you will depart on an afternoon game drive to enjoy the beautiful scenery this park has to offer. Dinner and overnight at KIKOTI CAMP.
Kikoti Camp (Tarangire): Situated in the heart of the Maasai Plains just 1km from Tarangire National Park, Kikoti Camp is a place where people arrive as guests and leave as friends. This luxurious tented camp, due to its location also offers clients the opportunity to enjoy walking safaris led by Maasai Warriors and night game drives. Kikoti Camps lies on the migration route for the plains game and offers a diverse array of wildlife to see just from the camp itself.
Day 10After an early morning game drive, you will return to your lodge for breakfast. On checking out you will return to Arusha for drop off in the town centre.
